Precious Friend

Here's a card made for the Featured Stamper challenge this weekat Splitcoaststampers - it's Pattie G. and HERE is the card that inspired me.
I used Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Precious Poppies set for the sentiments and curved the long one on the acrylic block to imitage a butterfly flight path.
I coloured the two hat pins with Copic marker YG03 to match the dp made by Wild Rose Studios.  The polka dot dp is from Stampin Up and was sent to me by my sweet friend, Roberta (stampin'nana).
The tag was made using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Mini Tags and Sentiments and Mini Tags and Sentiments die set with Stampin Up's Lucky Limeade ink.
Other Supplies include Spellbinders Butterflies 2, my sewing machine, a flower and some ribbon!

Pretty in Pink

A card made for this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge and for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers  at DryGoods.
And here's the Tuesday Trigger inspiration photo, Pretty Little Petits Fours:

I made a couple of masks with post-it-notes using Spellbinders Nestabilities Squares Large and Small, then sponged inside with both pink and gray ink.
The flowers were made with different sized punches, layering them up, and topping with pearls.
The sentiment is one of my favourites for a thank you card, from Papertrey Ink's Signature Greetings.
Then a few pearls scattered around to finish!
Other Supplies include:
Stampin Up Pretty in Pink ink
Tsukneko Archival Brilliance Starlite ink
Woodware Flower punches (medium and mini)
Papermania Midi Flower punch
Pearls

Courage

A card with absolutely no stamps!
I made this for three challenges - Moxie Fab's The Wonder of Watercolor, Splitcoaststampers Mix-Ability (to use drawing or doodling), and the Free For All Challenge,
to write a sentiment rather than stamping.
Here's the story behind the sentiment.
When I saw my sweet friend Dina Kowal's sample for the Mix-ability challenge,
I was astounded by how beautiful it was - you can see it HERE.
I showed it to my son and said, "I know she's fabulously talented, but how does she do that?"  and he said "She's not afraid."
When I told Dina, she said it made her teary and to give him a hug!
As a young man headed for Art College in September, this has been part of his journey - learning to "let go" and not be worried about people's expectations, or about messing up, but to just CREATE!
It inspired my sentiment for today's card.
I sponged a watercolor paper panel with ink before loosely watercoloring grass and flowers in several layers. I then drew in some lines and dots, and added a doodled border to frame. I wrote the word "courage" with different size letters on watercolor paper before popping it up in a random fashion. The whole panel is popped up on a watercolor paper card base - I love the rich feel of the paper!
I used Winsor & Newton watercolors and the only other supplies are a small Woodware butterfly punch plus a black fine line pen.
Thanks for stopping by!

Pale Pink Roses

A card made for this week's Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use It Challenge - Add it Up (mathmatical symbols).
Here's the gorgeous Trigger Tuesday photo that inspired me called Pretty Little Petits Fours.

I love that wood grain bg, but I don't have a wood grain embossing panel or stamp - I did have a few brown woodgrain embossed panels lying around someone must have given me - so I swiped white embossing ink over one and then embossed with white embossing powder - it ended up with a glossy white woodgrain effect.
I also used several layers of silver embossing on the flourish and multiple layers of silver embossing on the tag before stamping the sentiment while it was still warm to leave the impression (it's helpful to ink up the stamp with embossing ink first so it doesn't stick, and don't do it while it's still too hot.)
The roses are made from pink felt using MFT Mini Rolled Rose Die-namics - I just love rolling those little things!

Peaceful Sea

A card  made for the Colour Challenge at Splitcoaststampers using Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, and River Rock....the blues and sandy hues made me think of the sea so I reached for one of my very favourite Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sets, The Sea.
The sentiment is also from SNSS, Bridge of Hope.
These words were written by Horatio Spafford after deep personal tragedy and are still bringing peace and comfort today through the singing of this hymn.
I masked and sponged the scene with post-it-notes after stamping the silhouette and then used a Cuttlebug die set for the sea shells, lightly sponging the edges with Ranger Distress Frayed Burlap ink.
Other supplies include:
Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles Large
Hessian burlap
Post-it-notes
Stampin Up Night of Navy, Baja Breeze ink
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Ranger Distress Frayed Burlap ink
Brads
Provocraft Cuttlebug Seashell dies

Chocolate Cupcake Anyone?

Here's a card I made for hosting the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today - it's Robin, aka Missro, and I was inspired by her cupcake card found HERE.
I used Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps newly released Birthday Bash set and Birthday Bash Die Set to make the cupcake and SNSS dies for the stars and pennants.
I stitched with brown thread to add to the chocolate theme.
I used a tiny star punch to make some chocolate star sprinkles, just like some we've got in our cupboard - they're a favourite cupcake decoration!
I scored a line at the top of the pennants so that I could fold a small edge back and tape them over the twine at the back, I found it helps keep them all in place and gives a neat edge.
Other supplies include:
DCWV Sweet Stack dp
Sewing machine
M-bossibilities So Trendy embossing folder
Spellbinders Nestabilities Ovals Petite Small, Large
Buttons
SU Pool Party, Early Espresso card stock
American Crafts jute twine

Hey Chickie!

Here's my card for the fab Paper Smooches Sparks Cool Shades Challenge this week - Oceanside:

I ended up loving this combo!
I used a Stampasaurus Stencil and sponged the colours in the
chevron pattern before popping up this little bird.
Strictly speaking, chicks are yellow, but in Stampyland,
we can be as creative as we like, so my little chick is acid green!

Others supplies include:
MFT Color Box Black Licorice ink
Stamping Up Cool Caribbean
Memento Pear Tart, Sky Blue
Ranger Distress Antique Linen
Marianne Designs Bird/Branch die
Kraft cardstock
Buttons

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee

I love the fun Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo this week called Wake Up Call!
The colours are so fabulous and cheery and remind me of a sunny summer's morning!
Looking forward to the first time I can sit in the back garden with a morning
cuppa and enjoy the sunshine!
I used Verve's Sip and Savor for the sentiment and the coffee cup, adding little polka dots with a gel pen on the cup.
I made my own double ended banner with dimension using My Favorite Things Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics - this ends up being easier than it may look by cutting two small bits of a banner and attaching them at an angle behind the sentiment banner to make it look like it's been folded.
I drew in the steam with a gel pen as well.
Other supplies include:
Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles Large,
My Favorite Things Sun Die-namics
Echo Park dp
Stampin Up dp
Stampin Up Pool Party, Daffodil Delight card stock

Butterfly Blessings

One of the things I love about papercrafting is being able to choose colour combos, and I had a real urge to do green and black!  Here's a card for today's Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoaststampers - it's Lin, aka bearpaw, and HERE is the card I used for inspiration.
I cut a rectangle with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then inside it cut a square from Spellbinders Nestabilities Squares.
The rectangle is popped up and so is the text square with the black layer receding behind, you might be able to see it in this closer look.

Who knows if green butterflies exist in reality but this one's coloured with copics to match the vivid green dp (DCWV Lemonflower Matt Stack).

Other Supplies include
Hero Arts Antique Butterflies and Flowers
Stampin Up text dp
Sewing machine
Button
Twine
Memento Tuxedo Black ink (butterfly)
MFT Color Box Black Licorice ink (sentiment)
Papertrey Ink Signature Greetings (sentiment)

Sun Kissed Flowering Tree

I don't think we're going to get much sun here in Northern Ireland today, so I had to create mine on a card!
I made this inspired by the beautiful Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo Magical Magnolias:

I was intrigued by the mix of pink with tiny touches of yellow which I don't use together much, but I went for it head first!  There's plenty of milky white in the photo, so I kept a fair bit of clean, white space!
I masked a strip with post-it-notes before sponging in Stampin Up's Barely Banana and Blushing Bride. I also masked a sun with a small circle from Spellbinders Nestabilities Circles.
I created the tree using several die-cuts from Memory Box's Woodland Branch die, then added some layered flowers using Martha Stewards hydrangea punch and a Tonic punch with tiny star shaped flowers. The sentiments if from Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings set.
My card also fits the Free for All Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today - Let the Sun Shine In - to use sun or something sunny on your card!

Our Father in Heaven!

Today I'd like to show you a couple of cards I created with the sentiments from the
new Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps set, His Child.
I love these wonderful truths about our relationship with our heavenly Father
through Jesus and wanted to show
how flexible they are with many different images and die-cuts.
For the first card I added an embossed heart to highlight the
love of God mentioned in the sentiment, using SNSS's Heart Die Set -
love all the sizes and shapes in this set of dies!
The sentiment panel is popped up over two dp panels, and to finish I added a trio of buttons.
It was a quick, easy card, and there's plenty of creamy white space for a clean look.
Supplies include:
Sizzix Plaid embossing folder
Buttons
October Afternoon dp
MFT Color Box Licorice Black ink
Smooth Cream card stock

For the second card I sponged a panel with green ink along the bottom, then stamped with several images from Nature Silhouettes.
Using clouds from SNSS's Cloud and Raindrops Die Set I masked and sponged a sky scene, then popped up a couple of clouds.
To finish I added a fence die-cut using SNSS's Fence and Grass Die Set and a few sponged punched butterflies.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope your day is a good one!
Supplies include:
Stampin Up Lucky Limeade ink
Ranger Distress Broken China ink
Stampin Up Melon Mambo ink
Martha Stewart Butterfly punch

Welcome to Day 5 of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps April Release Mini Blog
Hops - today we're showcasing several sets, the first one is
His Child!

I loved making cards with this set, in fact I ended up making
about five the first time I used it - I'll share a couple of those with you today!
For this one I masked and sponged a strip with post-it-notes
before spritzing with distress stains.
I used the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
fence die from the Fence and Grass Die set to add a
little picket fence.  This wonderful sentiment
is accented with stamps from SNSS's Decorative Frame Toppers.

Supplies include:
 Ranger Distress Scattered Straw
Stampin Up Pool Party, Cool Caribbean
Ranger Broken China Distress Stain
MFT Color Box Licorice Black ink

Here's my second card:

For my second card I also masked and sponged a strip using post-it-notes,
before spritzing with water.  I find dabbing up the excess water
with a dry cloth helps "lift" the ink.
I used a post-it-note and a small circle cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities
Circles Small to mask a sun.
The wild meadow grass is stamped using
to accent the wonderful sentiment.

Supplies include:
Stampin Up Lucky Limeade, Yoyo Yellow ink

Twine
Pearls

be - look at all those tags and sentiments!
I decided to string some of the small tags along for a "rainbow" effect and
then designed a matching sentiment to say exactly what I wanted to say.
I popped up the word "blessed" using red ink for emphasis.
