Faith, Hope and Love

Here's a fairly clean card created with the  versatile and beautiful set Prim Blessings
by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!
Bright yellow sunflowers are so cheerful, they're great for any occasion,
but especially perfect for cards of encouragement.
I wanted to attach the tag on the sunflower so I drew in a stem and then added a bow and button.
The flower is colored with copics and popped up and the flower center has been sponged with ink and popped up for another layer of dimension.
I cut a tiny heart from one of the other accent images to cover up an ink smudge!
It made me think of this verse from the Bible:
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
 (1 Peter 4:8)
Love doesn't excuse or hide wrongs, but it does help us forgive -
this little heart was very forgiving in dealing with my mistake!
I used my Scor-pal to score lines at the top of the card base and
a Fiskars Corner Rounder for the bottom edges.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope it's a great weekend for you!

Friend 2 Friend

Hello, here's a card I created for the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers - this week it's Heidi Baks, aka hlw966 and HERE is the beautiful card I chose to CASE.
I used post-it-notes to mask a strip, sponging with Stampin Up's Yoyo Yellow and Only Orange.
The flower image is from Flourishes Old Tea Rose and the sentiment is from Flourishes Sentimental Favorites. I added some black dots with a fine line pen to match the style of the art work done by the talented stamp designer, Sam Pickard.
These are my favourite kinds of cards to make - lots of clean, white space with bright pops of colour!
Have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by!

God's Hands

My favorite stamps are those with encouraging sentiments for creating cards to send to those going through difficult times who could use a reminder of who God is and how trustworthy He is.
This beautifully designed SNSS set, His Peace, really fits the bill!
I don't know about you, but I need to be reminded almost daily to give my worries
to Jesus and then ask Him to help me receive His peace.
This is a fairly easy to execute design - I simply
added some little brads on the accents above and below the sentiment and then arranged various shaped hearts cut from scraps of dp and card stock using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Heart Dies.
They're popped up at different levels for layers of dimension.
I then added some little black punched butterflies with pearl centers.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

SNSS August Release Mini Hop Day 5

Hello and welcome to Day 5 of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Mini Blog Hops
showcasing the August Release sets - today we're highlighting
two fantastic sets designed by Korin Sutherland with large inspirational sentiments,
His Peace and Calms His Child.

For the first card I sponged the main panel cut with Nestababilites Labels 8 while still in the die with
Stampin Up's Blushing Bride ink before stamping the sentiment in Versafine Black Onyx ink.
It's framed with a die-cut using Nestabiliies Decorative Labels 8.
It's hard to see here, but the back panel in watermelon red/pink has been dry embossed with stripes.
The little hearts are cut using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Heart Die set.

The beautiful silhouette from the SNSS set The Sea seemed like a perfect
background for this comforting sentiment - it's been stamped in Stampin
 Up's Pool Party ink,
and I also sponged around the edges of the panel with the same ink.
The only embellishments are twine and silver pearl brads.

Both of these sets nearly make the card all by themselves,
I know I'll use them time and time again.
Check out the details below:

His Peace stamp set includes 1 large sentiment.
It measures approximately 3" x 4 ".
Stamp measures 2 1/2" x 3 3/8".
Designed by Korin Sutherland.

SNSS August Release Mini Hop Day 4

Hello and welcome to Day 4 of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Mini Blog Hops
showcasing the August Release sets - today we're highlighting Dina Kowal's
beautiful companion set to His Child - it's called

God Is

I sponged a pre-made tag with Stampin Up's Lucky Limeade, Yoyo Yellow, and Cool Caribbean and framed it with black using the Perfect Layers Tool for cutting.  The ric rac borders in black
were cut using the newly release Bookmark and More Dies.
I love having a ric rac border die!
What a sweet sentiment of truth to remind us that the very existence of God in
all His love and mercy is enough to answer our deepest fears.

On my second card the circle is sponged with Stampin Up's Cool Caribbean and Lavender Lace.
The little fence is cut using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Fence and Grass Die Set, and
I used a Woodware punch for the tiny butterflies.
All dp on both cards is from Stampin Up, and the silhouette and
sentiment stamping was done in Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Now take a look at the whole set with all the details below:

Stamp set includse 3 images and 5 sentiments.
Set measures approximately 4" x 6".
the drummer boy image measures approximately 1 1/2" x 2 1/2".

SNSS August Release Mini Hop Day 3

Hello and welcome to Day 3 of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Mini Blog Hops
showcasing the August Release sets and today we're
highlighting a wonderful new set that coordinates
with one of the existing sets, Decorative Plaques!

I sponged the doily and the decorative plaque with Ranger Distress Frayed Burlap for a vintage look and then used Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Doily Border Dies along the top and the bottom of the stitched panel.  The dp is from Lilybee Designs and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The whole thing is mounted on a kraft card base.

And here's another bookmark!  I wanted to
work well with the new Bookmark and More Dies.
I added a Nestabilities Oval behind the frame for extra definition and
the two little red dots are the bits that come out of the small hole punch.
The dp is Pebbles Take Note.

Check out the whole set below with all the details - it covers almost every occasion!

Stamp set includes 8 images and 12 sentiments.
Set measures approximately 6" x 8".
The top left image mesures approximately 2 3/8" x2 5/8".

SNSS August Release Mini Hop Day 2

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Mini Blog Hops showcasing the August Release sets and today we're highlighting a fab set by Diane Zechman

For my first card, I cut a circle using Nestabilities Circles
before paper piecing a little scene as a background for the sweet little ewe!
I used Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Beach dies for the sun and the
Clouds and Raindrops Die set for the little clouds.
This card is also for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoaststampers
today honouring Joyce, aka ashjoy and here is the card from her gallery which inspired me.

I got this set just in time for creating a wedding card I was needing,
and the two little birds are perfect with this sweet sentiment.
They're coloured with copics and popped  up on a die-cut using one of the little dies from the newly released Bookmarks and More die set.
All of the hearts are cut using SNSS's Heart dies except for the largest which I cut free
hand in a matching folksy style.  I finished the card with a few little scattered pearls.

Now check out the whole set below and all the details - look at how versatile it is!
I haven't even got to use the beautiful sunflowers yet!

Stamp set includes 7 images and 5 sentiments.
Set measures approsimately 4" x 6".
The large sunflower image measures aproximately 2 1/4" .
Designed by Diane Zechman.
Priced at $15.

SNSS August Release Mini Hop Day 1

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps August
Release Mini Hops showcasing the new
stamps and die set!  Today we're highlighting the fabulous
Bookmarks
and
Bookmarks and More Dies

I was so excited to see that Korin had designed these sets, probably because I'm a book fanatic!
I love libraries and book stores, I've got stacks of books beside my bed,
and my bookshelves are overflowing!

For the first bookmark, I covered thick cardstock with dp for the base and then
added some paper pieced red airplanes and then added a cloudy sky using
I had no black twine so I used black copic ink to dye a bit for the bow.
For a bookmark that will get a little bit of everyday wear and tear,
I use a match to heat "seal" the ends of the ribbon so it doesn't fray.
Carefully, I might add!  Some ribbon seals well, but a few types are prone to catch fire!

For the second bookmark I sponged the base with Stampin Up Pool Party
and a sun using the Beach Dies set.
I also added some grass using the SNSS Fence and Grass Die set.
The seam binding was dyed to match with copic ink.
I coloured the little toadstools with copics.
Almost all of the elements on my bookmarks are flat,
not popped up, so that they
don't damage the binding or pages of the books.

My third project is a fun card to go along with a gift of a stack of children's books.
The images were coloured with copics and some are popped up.
I added some dots with a black fine line pen.

My samples only touch on what can be done with these sets,
 the possibilities are truly endless,
I've got loads more ideas, all I need now is some time to try them out!

Stamp set includes 11 images and 5 sentiments
Set measures approximately 8" x 6".
The owl image measures approximately 1 3/4" x 1 5/8".
Designed by Korin Sutherland.
Priced at $26.

Bookmarks dies measure approximately 2" x 8".
Designed by Korin Sutherland.
Priced at  $32.75

Rock On!!

A card created using several Papertrey Ink sets that I got for my birthday recently - always good to have some cards on hand for teenagers and older kids!
The sets are Rock On and Grunge Me.
I pressed several Ranger Distress Ink pads (Broken China, Scattered Straw, and Shabby Shutters) directly onto the card base, before stamping with the same colours.
The guitar is stamped using Versafine Black Onyx ink and popped up using the matching PTI die.
I added some black stars using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Stars dies - love this set, I think it must be my most used set of dies!
This was a fun card to create and I'm looking forward to experimenting more with this look and trying it in different colours!
Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one!

Flourishes August Beautiful World Tour

Hello and welcome to the Beautiful World Tour showcasing work by the talented Design Team using fabulous Flourishes sets!
You've arrived at your stop in Belfast, Northern Ireland and if you've flown in from Meredith's blog in beautiful British Columbia, you're in just the right place.
If you've wandered in here and want to start at the beginning,
you can do that by hopping over to the Flourishes blog.
One lucky winner is chosen from all the comments each month to win a
Flourishes stamp set of their choice, so good luck!
This month our hostess is Naomi and the challenge is to
create using a flower inspired by the country in which we live.
I had to get my thinking cap on for this as we don't have a national flower here in Northern Ireland.  The closest thing might be the bloom of the flax plant, used in producing linen, it has a lovely blue flower with five petals, which is represented in various design aspects of
 Northern Ireland's Parliament building, Stormont.
However, ever since I first came here to live, I've been fascinated by the vast array of roses grown in gardens from the smallest cottages to the biggest of huge country estates,
so that's what I went with!  I used the beautiful
Flourishes Old Tea Rose
set for my image and
Sentimental Favorites
for the "miss you" message!
This colour combo is one I'm partial to at the moment!
I stamped the flower image twice so that I could pop it up for a little dimension, here's a closer look:

Here are the copic colours I used:
R27, R22, R20, R000 for the rose and YG17, YG23, YG67 for the leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, now it's time to head on over to
Sasha's blog and check out her fabulous creation!

Butterfly Love

Here's my sample card for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoaststampers today - I'm hosting a challenge that involves clean and simple cards and a certain colour!
If you're a Fan Club member, you might want to hop over there so you don't miss out on the fun, the challenge, chat and an opportunity to win prizes!  If not, you can find out more about it HERE.
I used a favorite set, Hero Arts Antique Engravings for my butterflies and sponged them with Ranger Distress Mowed Lawn ink - don't you just love that name, it conjures up the smell of summer for me!
I stamped the antennae on the card base before attaching the popped up butterflies.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Happy Trails set.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
