Peonies in a Jar

My practice card for today's Watercolor for Cardmakers Online Class - this is my attempt at Sanketi's beautifully loose style - I've been a follower of her blog for quite a while because I freely admit that I'm a watercolor wannabe!  I also admit I find this loose style challenging, as an "inside the lines" kinda girl!
The image is from Flourishes Garden Picks and the sentiment is from Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals.  I tried a lot of different embellishments including sequins and black and white twine, and ended up pulling it off - it stays as it is!
Thanks for stopping by today!

  2. Those peonies are beautiful--the wannabe watercoloring artist might be a full-fledged watercolorer! Ha--I think I'm making up words, but you get the point :-)

  8. This is fabulous! I agree with all your comments. I don't realize what a control freak I am until I attempt to watercolour in an outside the lines way! I too tried to add sequins and pearls to some watercolour cards and they had to come off as they seemed to detract from the free flow of the water colour.

  10. Sorry--too many type-o's on my first comment.
I can totally relate to everything you've said here! "Loose" is something I will have to work at. Your flower is beautiful! I love your speckled background, too. And thanks so much for your comment on my dogwood card! (I stayed in the lines--Lol!)
